#whsfridayfact The House on the Hill
Windlesham House was originally called Highden. We changed the name of the house when it was purchased by the Malden’s in 1935. The Goring family originally built it in the late 17th century, but the exterior of the present building appears about a century later. It is in the Queen Ann style of architecture and thought to have been renovated in 1838. After purchasing the property, the Malden’s added the top floor to the building in 1936 in preparation for the whole school to inhabit.
