On Saturday 28th September we welcomed a very special group of OWLS back to the school for our Vintage OWLS lunch.

OWLS ranging from 1959 to 1972 returned along with guests for a delicious 3 course lunch with wine in Highden, some of whom had not been back since they left.

The sun was shining which made the tours around the school to see how it had evolved over the years, a less damp experience than had been expected.

They all had stories of their time there with 5 of them having attended at the same time and were meeting again for the first time. In the age of social media and everything being communicated electronically it was a pleasure to connect people in person and bring back happy memories for so many of them.

One OWL David Goff (1962) was shown archived magazines from 1930 which contained notes and mentions of his father who also attended the school, enabling to learn unknown facts about this father’s early school days.

Former staff members Richard and Rachel Martin and David Turner also attended.

Owls who attended : Roger Cooper, Peter and Robert Bray, Simon Binsted, Chris Foulkes, Hugh Ebbutt, David Goff, Stephen Nankivell, Roddy Field, Michael Penney.

A request from the archive: If anyone has a copy of any Windlesham House School magazines from 1962 to 1969 please can they send me a copy as we have a gap in our archive from those years.
